The co-founder of the Seventh Academy was Susan McClellan, who in 2006 left Academy teaching to pursue graduate work in psychology and now lives and works in Vermont, though still offering some local classes on shamanism.
Susan, a native of Wales, is a shamanic practitioner, teacher, facilitator, counselor and the founder of Dream Song: The Center for Shamanic Studies. Her work includes classical and transformative shamanic techniques, energy and vibrational healing, past-life regression, hypnotherapy and Multi-Dimensional Cellular Healing. Susan is a Reiki Master and an initiate of the Zen Peacemaker Order. She is also the facilitator of teaching and healing circles and has organized, and presented at, conferences on shamanism, alternative and complementary medicine, women's studies and other spiritually-oriented holistic gatherings. Susan works with individuals, families and groups.
Her studies and credentials include a three-year program for professional shamanic counselors with Michael Harner's Foundation for Shamanic Studies; a seven-year training program with several indigenous spiritual teachers; and nine years of core and cross-cultural shamanic studies which included Celtic, Tibetan and Native American traditions. She has also studied Buddhist spiritual traditions and world religious philosophies generally, and completed a Two-Year Shamanic Teaching Training program with Sandra Ingerman. Besides Michael and Sandra, her teachers have included Larry Peters, Tom Cowan, Frank MacEowen, and famed author Joan Halifax.
In May 2006, Susan earned a bachelor's degree in Transpersonal Psychology (TP) from Burlington College (Burlington, VT), and in August 2006 embarked upon a graduate-level program to continue her TP studies.
Additionally, Susan is certified in The Conflict Partnership Processes for Effective Conflict Resolution and Relationship Building Processes and Practices, as taught by world renowned Peacekeeper author and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Dudley Weeks. Susan is available to teach these conflict transformation and relationship-building processes as life skills to individuals, couples and organizations.

The Seventh Academy has benefited from the help of many people, including seminar participants.
The original Administrator of the Seventh Academy was Jackie Ames, who handled everything from finances to scheduling. A transformative astrological advisor and massage therapist, Jackie may be reached at tynanglass@hotmail.com.
Mike Haas, writer and editor, has, since the beginning of the Academy, handled the website as well as many seminars, especially on symbol systems and the role of fantasy literature in creativity. He presently writes for a leading technical science journal and is a working author of historical fantasy.
Tracy Halterman, who has handled administrative affairs and many seminars, most notably on the stages of religious and scientific faith, is an integrative massage therapist and may be reached at tjhaltermn@aol.com.
The Seventh Academy has also benefited from the work and support of committee members, most notably Kallie Kendle, who has been a foundational pillar of the Academy since its inception.
